HahaOk
You know how sometimes an inside joke goes too far? That’s exactly what happened when Jon Kubik, Mea Cole Tefka, Rohit Thawani and I created HahaOK, the world’s first fully-integrated single billboard ad agency.
We rented out a billboard in west Oakland and treated it as a canvas to have a conversation with the local community.
Every month or so, we created a new experiment that pushed the bounds of traditional media.

Billboard 1: The Idea Swap Billboard
For our first billboard, we sat directly beneath it every Sunday morning and swapped our “creativity” for whatever local businesses or individuals were willing to trade.

Hector from the melon truck traded us melons for a logo and some stickers. Kinslips traded us a bunch of edibles fo bigr brand ideas. Vacation Tanning Oil traded us champagne for headlines. PMH swapped us a vanilla candle for some brainfarts. Maria gave us a keychain for a few baby names.

Billboard 2: Graffiti By Numberz
When local vandals started tagging our billboard we decided to create a giant paint-by-numbers stye surface to let the little bastards go wild.

Billboard 3: Li’l Money
A friend of ours has a hairless guinea pig that eats anything. Even money. So we thought it would be funny to see if people would actually Venmo a guinea pig named Lil Money their hard earned dollars. Turns out they did!
