Emily’s Oz. Everyone has a favorite movie, now anyone with a visual disability can find theirs.
Emily’s Oz
We started by asking a seven year-old who’s been blind since birth what she sees when she watches her favorite movie.
Emily’s resulting vision became a commercial, a documentary, and a permanent multimedia installation at the Smithsonian.
Everyone has a favorite movie. Now millions of people with disabilities can now find theirs.

A traveling multimedia installation premiered at the annual gala for the American Association for People with Disabilities in Washington, D.C., an event honoring pioneers in disability rights.

While the campaign has ended, Emily’s Oz lives on as a permanent installation at the Smithsonian National Museum of American History. Right beside Dorothy’s ruby red slippers.
